Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Muay Thai are commitments. Signing up for either one is a commitment beyond yourself. You are committing to learning a new art, being a good training partner, and changing your life. Joining a gym like ours is completely different from joining your every day workout gym. Lives are changed through these sports every day.
However, People tell themselves reasons why they can’t join. There is no “I can’t,” there is always a way.
“I can’t join, I don’t have the money right now”
This is the number one “I can’t” statement that we hear on an everyday basis. We completely understand this, times can be tough. However, investing in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai is an investment in your mental and physical health.
A Dunkin Donuts Large Coffee is $2.09. If you buy one coffee every day for a month that comes out to $62.70. That is a significant amount of money when you look at it on a monthly basis. Say as well, that you go out to eat and get drinks once a week. An average night at a restaurant can run you about $20. If you only go out for food and drinks once every two weeks and brew your own coffee this saves you around $100 a month easily.
This is without even making any serious changes.
“I can’t join, I don’t have the time”
Schedules are tough. If you didn’t have to work for a living we would see much more people in the gym and this would not be a problem. However, you have more time than you think. You just do not realise how much of your day is wasted doing frivolous things. According to a recent survey the average American spends around five hours per day on their phone. That can be coupled with the statistic that the average American spends around 3hrs and 58 minutes watching TV. An average Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Muay Thai class runs around one hour.
We have classes as early as 6am and as late as 7pm. You have more time than you think you do. All it takes is one less tv show or browse of Instagram and you have the time.
“I can’t join, I am out of shape/ I am too old”
I lumped these two together as they both are answered the same way. Where will you be in “X” years if you don’t sign up today. For age worries, in ten years, quite obviously, you will be ten years older with no significant changes.
In ten years you could have your Black Belt if you train hard enough. A Black Belt at twenty-two is the same belt that you get if you get it at fifty-two. For people thinking they are out of shape, in one year you could be more in shape than today but without the knowledge you could have gained. We work with everybody regardless of any factor.
We will get you where you want to be no matter the hurdle.
